New Relic APM and Infrastructure was implemented on Ruby applications at our client, a leading architecture software company, filling a gap that other monitoring tools could not fill. The implementation gave teams visibility into their Ruby Application’s transaction response times, error codes and messages, Sidekiq jobs, Docker Container processes, and more. In addition to the out-of-the-box APM and Infrastructure dashboards, SGG used the New Relic Insights tool to build custom dashboards for both the business and developers. The custom dashboards include throughput, error rate, average response time, 90th percentile, and other crucial metrics for individual, pre-defined critical transactions. Utilizing the New Relic Query Language (NRQL), SGG setup a number of custom alerts specific to critical transactions and specific errors. With the success of this initial implementation, SGG will continue to expand to other applications and systems using New Relic.
